Our journey began in 2013 when we welcomed our very first Basset Hound into our home. What started as a simple love for their unique appearance quickly became a lifelong passion. Their gentle nature, loyalty, and lovable personalities left a lasting impression on our family and inspired us to learn more about the breed and become involved in responsible breeding.
Today, our dogs are an important part of our daily lives. Alongside my wife and two children, we share our home with our Basset Hounds. They are not raised in outdoor kennels or isolated areas—they live with us as family members and take part in everyday life.
At Basset Hound Haven, we aim to be one of the top basset hound breeders in the country! We follow AKC standards closely to raise healthy, well-cared-for puppies. Every basset hound puppy we offer includes AKC registration, so you can trust you’re bringing home a high-quality, loving companion!

When we first discovered the Basset Hound, we were drawn to its long ears, soulful eyes, and unmistakable charm. But over time, we realized that what makes this breed truly special is its personality.
Basset Hounds are affectionate, loyal, patient, and wonderful with families. They enjoy spending time with their people and often form strong bonds with both adults and children. While they love relaxing at home, they also have the curiosity and determination that come from their history as scent hounds.
Even after more than a decade with these amazing dogs, we continue to enjoy learning from them every day. Their unique personalities and loyal nature are the reasons we remain so passionate about the breed.

One of the things that makes our program special is the role our entire family plays in raising each litter. From the day puppies are born, they receive daily attention, handling, and socialization.
Because our puppies grow up inside our home, they naturally become familiar with the sights, sounds, and activities of family life. Our goal is to help them grow into confident, friendly companions that are ready to adapt to their new homes.
Our puppies are gradually introduced to common household sounds such as vacuum cleaners, televisions, kitchen activity, doorbells, and visitors. Early exposure helps them become more comfortable and confident as they grow.
As puppies develop, they are introduced to different surfaces such as carpet, tile, hardwood floors, grass, and gravel. We also help them become comfortable with being handled, including paw touching, ear cleaning, and nail trimming. These experiences make grooming and veterinary visits much easier later in life.
Our children spend time interacting with the puppies under supervision, helping them become friendly and comfortable around people. Puppies also have opportunities to interact with other household pets when appropriate.

The first few weeks of a puppy’s life are extremely important. During this time, we focus on health, nutrition, socialization, and positive experiences.
Every puppy receives routine veterinary examinations, vaccinations, and preventative care before joining its new family. We also provide detailed health records so new owners have the information they need.
We start our puppies on high-quality Diamond puppy food to support healthy growth and development during their early months.
Our puppies do not leave for their new homes until they are at least 8 to 10 weeks old. This gives them time to learn important social skills from their mother and littermates while gaining confidence and independence.
Each puppy also comes with a written one-year health guarantee and ongoing support from our family.

How basset hound haven Works
One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is staying connected with the families who welcome our puppies into their homes.
We love receiving updates, photos, and stories as our puppies grow into adult dogs. Seeing them become cherished family members is one of the reasons we continue doing what we do.
Our commitment does not end when a puppy leaves our home. We are always happy to answer questions about training, feeding, exercise, and general care. Supporting families throughout their dog’s life is an important part of who we are.
Whether you are researching the breed, preparing for a future puppy, or simply learning more about our story, we appreciate you taking the time to visit Basset Hound Haven.

Customer Testimonials
I’m grateful to all of the new basset hound owners who have contacted me with testimonials and pictures. I enjoy reading about your puppy updates.
They are born and raised in our home, not in a kennel. Our adult bassets are full-time house dogs with access to our huge, fenced backyard. They spend their days playing in kiddie pools and chasing each other around the yard, then snoozing in the sunshine! Our puppies are all spoiled from the moment of their birth on, and we will be very picky about the homes they join! We want our babies in families, not in kennels or breeding only homes. Expect lots of questions from me.
“Hi, I just wanted to let you know how Max is doing! He is perfectly healthy and an absolute angel for the veterinarians, having just returned from their visit! He is very loving and kind. His siblings, the dogs and cats, love him. He’s loved and adored by everyone around him, and he’s even picking up new tricks! I sincerely appreciate you letting me welcome him into our family.”

“Hi, I just wanted to say hi and let you know how great Makena is doing. She is the most wonderful little dog we have ever had, and she is also the cutest little girl. She can sit and retrieve, and she has already become housebroken (with only one incident). She is so amazing that we are considering having another one.”
